Many Americans say companies support Pride Month more for profit or pressure than principle, according to Pew Research Center data.
The fine print: These findings are based on separate surveys of 3,959 LGBTQ adults conducted Jan. 8-19; and 4,740 non-LGBTQ adults conducted Feb. 10-17.
Zoom in: This October, Atlanta will celebrate its 55th Pride festival.
Organizers are working with a "wide range of prospective sponsors," Atlanta Pride spokesperson Steven Igarashi-Ball said in a statement, and some year-to-year sponsorship changes are not unusual.
Sponsors and donors are, however, vital to Pride's success, he said.
"Atlanta Pride is the largest free Pride festival in the country, and that level of accessibility and visibility is only possible through the generosity of sponsors, community partners, and individual donors," Igarashi-Ball told Axios.
