Bastone, an Italian restaurant and mozzarella bar on Howell Mill Road in West Midtown, announced on Instagram that it's closed its doors after three years serving customers.
Why it matters: The restaurant joins the list of more than a dozen eateries that have closed in recent months — eight of which closed in January, Eater Atlanta reported in February.
What they're saying: Bastone chef Pat Pascarella said Wednesday in the social media post "everyone will sit here and blame the economy, the area's other closures, the neighborhood, cost of goods, COVID, etc."
"However, no one's to blame but us," he said. "The truth is that everyone likes to point fingers instead of using their thumbs."
Context: Bastone's closure comes roughly a week after Bartaco shut down its West Midtown location.
Flashback: Bastone opened in 2022 at the corner of 8th street and Howell Mill Road, which previously was home to Bocado.
