Chattahoochee River

For an easy entry point into paddling the Chattahoochee River, try out the waters from Island Ford to Azalea Park in north Fulton County.

Cartecay River

The popular stretch of the river outside of Ellijay makes for a great cabin weekend activity with family and friends, including those who may or may not be familiar with paddling.

Etowah River

For a more gentle paddle, try out a six-mile trip from Hardin Bridge to Neel's Landing in Bartow County.

• For a little more adventure, the water trail winding through the rustic Dawson Forest Wildlife Management Area has stretches of rippling rapids, curves and smaller crowds.
