Creepy curiosities await at The Oddities Museum

A ho-hum building in Chamblee contains a world of esoterica, horrors and grotesqueries.

Why it matters: If you're into taxidermied giraffes, antique medical equipment and creatures suspended in formaldehyde jars, then The Oddities Museum is your special place.

The small museum is connected to Rainy Day Revival, the curiosities shop, and Obscure Props, which rents out the oddball items — who here needs an iron lung or coffin? — to movie shoots.
Yep, there are clowns.

What they're saying: Founder Jeremy Gibbs told Axios he searches "high and low… mostly low" for the items.

"It's important that I keep the collection together, so that all the oddities I've collected can be seen. If these items were spread out among separate owners, they simply wouldn't be viewed by many folks."

Zoom in: The museum's busy events calendar includes plenty of family friendly and adult-only puppetry workshops throughout April. Previous events included taxidermy seminars.

Go: Admission is $10 per person, but free for children 6 and under.

The Oddities Museum is located at 3870 North Peachtree Road in Chamblee.
Hours of operation are 11am-5pm Monday and 11am-5pm Thursday through Sunday. The museum is closed Tuesday and Wednesday.
