A few months ago, I met two good friends for dinner at Serena Pastificio, an Italian restaurant at Colony Square.
Why it matters: Since then I've eaten there two more times. That's how delicious the food is.
Zoom in: Serena Pastificio makes its own pasta, and boasts a menu filled with classics you'd expect at an Italian restaurant, as well as meat and seafood entrées, appetizers, wine and cocktails.
The vibe: Lunch tends to draw people who work nearby, but at dinner time you'll see young couples, families, friends and a few folks enjoying food and drinks at the bar.
Best bites: I highly recommend the short rib pappardelle, which I've had twice. It's savory and the pasta had the perfect bite.
- For appetizers, I've had the meatballs and calamari. However, if I had to give one the edge, it would be the meatballs.
- The fettuccine with bolognese is also a solid choice.
What to drink: I'm a red wine girlie, so you can't go wrong with a pinot noir, malbec or chianti.
What I'm trying next: The crab ravioli and the fondutelli with black truffle cream sauce.
Pro tip: The Arts Center MARTA station is one block away. The restaurant does validate parking, which can save you some money.
Stop by: Serena Pastificio opens for lunch 11am to 4pm Monday through Friday and dinner from 4pm onward.
- The restaurant closes at 9pm Sunday and Monday and 10pm Tuesday through Saturday.
