Daniel and Julie Schiavone: "My wife and I attended Willie Nelson at Chastain Amphitheater [in 2016]. The show was great, as expected, with Willie showing youthful dexterity on Trigger, staying on his feet, and sharp with the lyrics all night.

• "For his encore, he invited Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter [along with Kris Kristofferson] onstage to sing the gospel classic, "I'll Fly Away". It was wonderful!
• "When we heard of the passing of President Carter, we turned on that song and told our kids (4&5) about the only President ever to be born in Georgia (so far). Thanks for the great summary of his life and legacy. Rest in peace, Jimmy!"

Brian C.: "I was a student at Emory University in the mid-1990s and every year, Carter would address the student body.

• "He would speak before a huge, packed auditorium, and one year he abruptly stopped his comments, looked at Rosalynn, and asked, 'Score?'

• Rosalynn replied, 'Braves winning, 6-3, bottom of the 6th [inning].'"

Jordy L.: "I first met Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter in 1966 when he was running for governor the first time. I was 9 and my sister was 7. It was at a rodeo in Cedartown. They probably spent 10 minutes talking to us, and we were just little kids, not voters. They made such a positive impression on me when I was 9.

• "When he ran for president, I volunteered to campaign for him, and I am still proud of my time in the Peanut Brigade, knocking on hundreds of doors. They were always among the nicest people I have ever met. They were great humanitarians and politicians, but they were even better people."
