Appalachian Trail gets USPS stamp tribute

Why it matters: The southern terminus of the roughly 2,190-mile hike begins on the top of Springer Mountain in North Georgia.

By the numbers: The outdoor recreation economy generates $1.85 billion, or 2.2%, of Georgia's gross domestic product, according to U.S. Bureau of Economic Affairs data.
