A beer company based in Canada has purchased three craft beer products, including Georgia-made Terrapin Beer Co.
Driving the news: Molson Coors announced last week the sale of its craft beer portfolio — Athens-based Terrapin, along with Hop Valley in Oregon, Revolver in Texas and Atwater in Michigan — to Tilray, a Canadian company with interests in cannabis and beer.
What they're saying: Molson Coors chief commercial officer Michelle St. Jacques said the moves allow the company to focus on its premium national brands, Blue Moon and Leinenkugel, as well as non-beer alcoholic beverages, such as seltzers and hard cocktails.
Fun fact: Tilray — which is best-known for its cannabis business interests — also owns SweetWater Brewing, an Atlanta-based craft brewery that also has locations in Fort Collins, Colorado, and Denver.
