When soccer star Emily Sonnett comes to town, the Marietta native makes a pilgrimage to a comforting roadside beacon and a former train depot along the Beltline.

Why it matters: Sonnett, who graduated from Roswell's Fellowship Christian School, will compete with the U.S. women's soccer team in the Summer Olympic Games in Paris.

What they're saying: "I love coffee," Sonnett, who plays defense for NJ/NY Gotham FC, told Axios. Her favorite spot to sip is at Muchacho along the Beltline's Eastside Trail.

"I'm home for the holidays, like the winter months. For Christmas, we go to Waffle House.
