Here's who's running for Atlanta City Council in 2024

The candidates on the ballot are:

• Devin Barrington-Ward, managing director of the Black Futurists Group, who previously ran for Atlanta City Council District 9.
• Eshé Collins, an attorney and former Atlanta Public Schools teacher who has served on the Board of Education since 2013.
• Amber Connor, a business owner who has community organizing experience with the Buckhead Council of Neighborhoods and Concerned Citizens United.
• Nicole Evans Jones, a small business co-founder, former school principal, and veteran educator.
• Duvwon Robinson, a former government official who recently ran for Fulton County Tax Commissioner.

Reality check: With five candidates on the ballot, it's very likely that the race could go into a runoff, which is tentatively scheduled for Dec. 3.

State of play: Whoever wins the seat will only serve out the remainder of Waites' term, which expires Dec. 31, 2025.

• The next round of City Council elections will be held in November 2025.

How it works: Atlanta City Council elections are non-partisan, and they receive a $72,360 salary.

• Council members serve for four years, without term limits.
