Atlanta parks can become your outdoor office

Grab your sunscreen, blanket, and battery pack and spend a workday in the fresh air.

The big picture: Cell phone hotspots and public Wi-Fi access have made our outdoor office dreams a reality.

Here are a few options.

Piedmont Park: The city's most famous park has plenty of shady trees, Midtown skyline views and — important — bathrooms.

  • Head to Mediterranean Grill, Woody's or Sean's Heart of the Park for lunch.

Grant Park: Ditto Piedmont's trees and facilities. Nearby food options include Bennett's, Grant Central and Dakota Blue.

  • Or say hi to the pandas at the zoo.

Brownwood Park: East Atlanta's laidback shaded green space just south of the village has picnic tables and bathrooms. It's a short walk from coffee shops like Joe's and The Local.

Perkerson Park: Rent a pavilion and grill lunch with colleagues or friends at this mellow southwest Atlanta park. End the day playing disc golf on the public course.
