Why it matters: Management and consulting, financial services, and pharmaceutical and biotech companies are leading the region's growth.
The region's wealth of Fortune 500 companies, diverse workforce and high-value higher education has helped birth unicorns and attracted management firms and tech giants like Airbnb, Facebook and Microsoft.
By the numbers: Tech workers in metro Atlanta make on average $86,250 per year — slightly below the national average for the industry.
Management and consulting jobs pay on average $80,771, roughly $4,000 more than the national average.
