Freedom Caucus chair says they haven't reached a deal with Trump

President Trump's meeting to find a middle ground on health care with the House Freedom Caucus has failed to reach a deal at this point.

  • Chief Deputy Whip Patrick McHenry told reporters on the scene that the caucus has been presented a "final offer."
  • Rep. Justin Amash, one of the Freedom Caucus' chief opponents of the bill, told reporters that the offer wasn't anything new. He added that the vote will fail should the House move forward to vote on the bill tonight.
  • Freedom Caucus Chair Mark Meadows tried to be more positive, although he said as of now, the bill doesn't have the votes to pass: "I hope we'll negotiate in good faith and get to a vote by 7 pm today."
