A DIY woodshop studio has opened in Charlotte's Belmont neighborhood, offering instructor-led classes where participants create custom home décor.
Why it matters: Board & Brush owner Buffy Wilkey hopes the space becomes a "third place" where people can gather, socialize and create outside of bars or restaurants.
How it works: Instructor-led classes run about two and a half to three hours, and you can choose from over 800 unique wood designs to customize.
Wood projects range from bar trays to porch signs that you'll sand, stain and distress.
The 925-square-foot space also features a small bar with beer and wine available for purchase.
If you go: Classes at Board & Brush can seat about 18 people.
