How to celebrate Tampa Theatre's 100th birthday

The Tampa Theatre is set to reopen next month, just in time for its 100th birthday.

Why it matters: A weeklong slate of events offer residents and fans a chance to see the results of a $30-million renovation, including the restoration of the Historic Duncan Auditorium and its famous starry night sky.

State of play: The events kick off Oct. 10 with a party and screening of "Clue" for theater members (and it's not too late to become one, the event page notes). The rest of the week is open to the public:

Sunday, Oct. 11: Public open house from 1-5pm, with remarks from CEO George Levesque at 3pm. Volunteers and staff will be on hand to answer questions and give mini tours. This event isn't ticketed; just show up.
Monday, Oct. 12: Screening of "Casablanca" at 7pm. Tickets ($13 for general admission, plus a $2 fee when purchased online).
Tuesday, Oct. 13: Screening of "The Wizard of Oz" at 7pm. Tickets.
Wednesday, Oct. 14: Screening of "A Night at the Opera" at 7pm. Tickets.

Of note: A Roaring 20s-themed Centennial Celebration planned for Thursday, Oct. 15, was sold out by Monday, spokesperson Jill Witecki told Axios.
