Independence Day is right around the corner, and there is no shortage of ways to celebrate America's 250th birthday in and around Tampa.

🌭 Where my Dogs at? Hot Dog Eating Contest, Tampa Heights: Armature Works will host a hot dog eating competition this weekend, where contestants will race to eat the most hot dogs within a 5-minute period.
The winner will get a $500 gift card, a championship belt, bragging rights and, almost certainly, a stomach ache. Tickets to enter the competition are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Entry fee is $25.

🎇 Liberty by the Bay, Downtown Tampa:The City of Tampa is throwing a free waterfront celebration at Julian B. Lane Riverfront Park, with food trucks, live music, a water ski show, a 250-drone light show and a fireworks finale.

🧪 Stars, Stripes & Science, University Area: Looking to celebrate the Fourth with air conditioning? MOSI has you covered with live music, a rainbow fire science demonstration and a fireworks show in the Saunders Planetarium.
