Jolly to pick Gwen Graham as running mate, sources say

Driving the news: Friday's withdrawal by Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings makes it easier for Jolly to run as the middle-of-the-road candidate he is, rather than being pulled to the left during the Democratic primary.

• The announcement is expected on Thursday during a rally at Florida International University's Graham Center Ballroom. A second source with the Florida Democratic Party said Graham was Jolly's pick.
• Jolly and Graham served together in Congress from 2015 to 2017; Graham later mounted an unsuccessful bid for Florida governor in 2018.

What they're saying: "We don't have anything to announce this time," Mark Riddle, Jolly's senior advisor, told Axios.

• "They've been friends since Congress. Gwen wanted to choose him as a running mate when she ran [for governor in 2018]. And he wants her now," a source familiar with the Jolly campaign's thinking said.
