Pinellas gives away free trees Saturday

Pinellas County residents can pick up a FREE tree at a giveaway this weekend.

Why it matters: The event aims to grow and sustain the county's urban tree canopy and takes place just a few days before National Arbor Day.

How to get one: Residents can head to the Pinellas County Public Works Operations Center in Clearwater from 9-11am this Saturday.

• Residents can pick up two trees per household on a first-come, first-served basis.
• Six species will be offered: Bald Cypress, Dahoon Holly, Live Oak, Longleaf Pine, South Florida Slash Pine and Sweetbay Magnolia.
