👋 Yacob here. I drove down to Seminole Heights recently to grab dinner at J's Asian Market, which opened last month.
State of plate: The restaurant features staples from Korean, Japanese, Thai and Vietnamese cuisine — all of which range between $5.95 and $18.95.
These dishes include fried wonton flowers ($8.85), spicy kara-age ($11.95), yaki udon ($15.95) and traditional beef pho ($16.95).
But its playlist is even more eclectic than its menu. Over an order of spicy kara-age, I listened to Daddy Yankee's "Gasolina" directly followed by John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John's "You're The One That I Want."
🤤 Best bites: I ordered — and fell in love with — a plate of kimchi fried rice, stir-fried rice, fermented kimchi and steak ($15.95).
But be warned: The kimchi gives the rice quite a kick, so it's best to have a drink on hand before you dig in.
I topped it off with an order of the gyzoa — six mouthwatering dumplings stuffed with spicy beef ($7.95)
