A six-court beach volleyball facility is headed for the University of South Florida's athletic district.
Why it matters: The facility is a long-term commitment to a program still in its first season, and part of a broader push to bring its athletic facilities on campus.
Zoom in: The construction is being funded through a mix of university and private dollars, and is set to finish in time for next season.
It will sit beside USF's track and field stadium and tennis facility, featuring six lighted courts, a large digital scoreboard and a state-of-the-art sound system, according to a press release.
What's next: The team will host two home games this spring on Clearwater Beach and practice at McDugald Park in Seminole Heights.
