Tampa Bay's first Whataburger opens this week in Largo

The doors of Tampa Bay's first Whataburger will open in Largo on Thursday.

Why it matters: The popular fast-food chain hails from Texas and is a staple in North Florida — with dozens of locations north of Gainesville.

Driving the news: The first 100 guests in line on Thursday will receive a "swag bag" filled with exclusive Whataburger merchandise.

The restaurant will also offer a free Kids Meal with the purchase of any Whatameal from Feb. 12 through March 12.

What's next: The Largo location may be Tampa Bay's first, but it will not be the last.

Whataburger will open seven more stores across Tampa Bay by 2027, with Brandon and Lutz expected this spring.
