This gift-shopping season, here's a pro tip: Visit a holiday market.
Why it matters: Markets offer a chance to shop local, find unique gifts, and revel in the holiday spirit with neighbors.
- They're the antithesis of the headache-inducing scroll that is online shopping.
Here are our picks. Free unless otherwise noted.
❄️ Winter Village, Tampa: This seasonal extravaganza kicked off Friday and runs through Jan. 4 at Curtis Hixon Park.
- The Shops of Winter Village (hours here) features local makers like Nairí Handmade Jewelry and Sweetstop Florida, plus a rotating lineup of more spots to shop.
- The event also features a cafe and an ice-skating rink (tickets here). And don't forget to check out the Friends of the Tampa Riverwalk Holiday Spectacular nearby from Nov. 30-Jan. 2.
🛍️ Shopapalooza, St. Pete: How many local vendors can you fit into Vinoy Park? At least 350, according to Shopapoloza organizers. Shop them all at this two-day market this Saturday and Sunday.
🛋️ Vintage Marchè December Market, St. Pete: This massive antique store gets all dressed up for the holidays. Shop furniture, Christmas decor and tons of year-round knick-knacks Dec. 5-7 (hours here).
- And *whispers* we heard Santa and Mrs. Claus will be hanging out from 9am-3pm that Saturday.
🎅 Tampa Bay Festival of Lights & Santa's Village, Dover: After driving two miles through the brilliance of 1.5 million dazzling lights, head to the holiday market at Santa's Village to shop for festive gifts and crafts.
- Thursday-Dec. 28 at the Hillsborough County Fairgrounds (different from the Florida State Fairgrounds). Gates open at 6pm. Tickets here.
🏖️ Merry Beach Market Holiday Festival, Madeira Beach: Take Christmas to the beach with this two-day celebration featuring more than 150 local craft and gift purveyors, live entertainment, and food and drink vendors.
- Dec. 12-13 at ROC Park. Head over that Friday evening for a fireworks show or Saturday for the annual Madeira Beach Lighted Boat Parade.
📚 Tombolo Books' Holiday Night Market, St. Pete: Coinciding with the beloved local bookstore's sixth anniversary, this market will feature food from Twisted Indian, drinks from Black Crow Coffee, and makers like Kind Studio ceramics and BYOB Box.
- Dec. 4 in the courtyard outside Tombolo.
🎄 Busch Gardens Christmas Town, Tampa: Our friendly neighborhood theme park turns into a wonderland with festive beverages and bites, holiday-themed shows, and seasonal shopping.
- Runs through Jan. 5. Tickets here.
🥂 The Holiday Promenade, Tampa: See Water Street decked out in lights, catch live performances and shop local vendors at this night market on Dec. 11.
🎨 Winter Wonderland Market 2025, St. Pete: Head to the James Museum of Western & Wildlife Art on Dec. 9 to shop unique gifts from local businesses and artists.
