Florida archive wants your hurricane photos

State archivists are seeking hurricane photos for a new collection, "Weather, Disaster and Recovery."

Why it matters: The images will be preserved in the State Archives, which chronicles major events in Florida history for researchers and the public.

How it works: The agency is looking for pictures of weather events and recovery efforts — and Lord knows we've all got plenty of those after the last few hurricane seasons.

Cellphone photos are likely fine, as long as you took the photos yourself and have a newer smartphone.
Print photographs and negatives are also accepted.
