Meet the beagle repping Tampa Bay in the "Stanley Pup"

Thirty-two of the cutest hockey players, including one repping the Lightning, will compete during the 2025 Stanley Cup between the Florida Panthers and Edmonton Oilers.

State of play: The "Stanley Pup," a friendly competition featuring adoptable rescue dogs, is returning for the second year.

The show will premiere at 5:30pm ET June 6 on TruTV.

Zoom in: Donning a Bolts jersey will be Brayden Pointer, a 9-week-old beagle mix who can smell a treat from 3.8 miles away.

His name, of course, is a nod to Bolts center Brayden Point.

How it works: During the 90-minute television special, the pups will play a canine version of hockey on synthetic ice.

Dog-loving celebrities Jamie Lee Curtis, Nikki Glaser, Paula Abdul and Michael Bublé will appear, representing a shelter of their choice.

What they're saying: "There's no need to purchase a puppy when you can open up your heart and home to give a wonderful life to a puppy that needs one," executive producer Michael Levitt tells Axios.

"We want to show everybody that shelter dogs are not second-string animals and deserve to be part of every family's starting lineup."
