Survey finds Rays fans are unusually patient

As the Rays look ahead to Opening Day, they can rest assured that Tampa Bay fans will stick with them longer than most MLB fanbases — even if they start slow.
The big picture: A national survey of baseball fans by sports platform Promo Guy sought to determine how quickly different fanbases begin to lose faith when their team is on a losing streak.
- For Rays fans, the tragic number was 13 straight losses — the most for any fanbase in the league.
- Tampa Bay fans are far more patient than their in-state rivals. Marlins fans said they waver after just six losses in a row.
Caveat: These results are based on responses from about 2,000 fans.
Zoom in: This MLB season will be unlike any Rays fans have experienced, since it'll be the first season the team has called somewhere other than Tropicana Field home.
- With the Trop's roof wrecked by Hurricane Milton, the Rays will play at Tampa's George M. Steinbrenner Field.
Friction point: That means two fresh tests of patience for Rays fans — cross-bay travel for those based on the St. Pete side and experiencing rain delays at home for the first time.
