If Italy and the U.S. had a baby, it would be this house that just hit the market in Sarasota.
State of play: This four-bedroom, four-bath, 9,200-square-foot mansion has the architectural features of a European getaway with the supersized, flashy grandeur of American suburban living.
- The lavish features inside the home at 1310 South Lake Shore Drive include imported marble floors, Venetian plaster walls and moldings with gold accents, per the listing by Premier Sotheby's International Realty.
- Outside are several terraces overlooking the water, along with a pool, gardens and a dock with a 20,000-pound boat lift.
The asking price: A whopping $28.4 million, making it the most expensive residential listing in Sarasota County, according to Sotheby's.
