We tried Dunkin' Spiked so you don't have to (seriously, don't)

Have you ever thought, "I like espresso martinis, but I wish they tasted significantly worse"? Well, we've got just the thing for you.

State of play: Dunkin' Spiked, which premiered over the summer, hit stores in Tampa, as well as Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Orlando and Jacksonville last month.

  • You may see cans and cases popping up at Publix, Winn-Dixie, ABC Wine & Spirits, Total Wine, Circle K and Walmart.
  • The drinks are sold in individual cans, 4 packs and cases (though our Circle K unfortunately only had cases).

The verdict: It's a no from us, dawg. The drinks tasted like pure chemicals and had a lingering sour aftertaste.

  • We didn't put Yacob through this and we envy him.

The rub: The vanilla and caramel flavors were undrinkable. Selene would rather lick the floor of a Dunkin' than finish one.

  • We might order the original flavor at a bar if there was nothing else good to drink. Kathryn would maybe use it as a pregame drink if she's really tired and really desperate.
  • We'd get the mocha flavor if the only other drink menu items were literal poison.

Between the lines: We were not brave enough to try "Sparked Dunkin," the chain's foray into the energy drink industry.
