Pinellas animal services, SPCA Tampa Bay waive adoption fees for some pets

If you've been thinking about adopting a pet, now is a good time. Two Tampa Bay area agencies are waiving adoption fees for some animals.

Zoom in: An upcoming renovation project at Pinellas County Animal Services prompted the agency to waive adoption fees for dogs. Construction on the project will cut kennel space, so officials said they need the public's help to house and foster the shelter's canines.

The agency will waive fees until construction is completed next year. The project will add air conditioning and strengthen the buildings to withstand a Category 4 hurricane.

Yes, and: SPCA Tampa Bay is waiving fees for "pocket pets" such as small birds, rabbits and guinea pigs starting today through the end of the year.
