👋 Megan again! One of the hottest new remote work spots in town is a laundromat.
Dig in: Emily Strayer, a founding member of The Chicks, opened Soap Laundry Lounge on the North Side late last year.
The vibe: The clean, contemporary laundromat exudes cool. It has a craft coffee bar with free WiFi that makes a mundane chore more enjoyable.
There are plenty of chairs for working and caffeinating while you wait. I didn't get any laundry done, but I actually found it relaxing to hear the machines in the background.
What to try: The banana nut latte ($5.50). I asked for it half sweetened and could have used a touch more syrup, which is not something you usually hear from me. That's a good sign this is a tasteful drink.
The bottom line: Soap Laundry Lounge is a nice change of pace.
