San Antonio gets new laundromat-cafe from Chicks singer

How it works: The space features 28 washers and 36 dryers. In addition to self-service, there are wash-and-fold options with same-day, 24- and 48-hour turnarounds to handle the work for you.

• Prices start at $4 per wash and $1.50 per pound for wash-and-fold.
• The coffee lounge serves espresso drinks, teas and pastries, with free WiFi for customers.

What they're saying: Strayer, a longtime San Antonio resident and Grammy winner, hinted at bringing more ideas to the city.

• "Soap is just the beginning," she said in a statement. "I hope to continue expanding offerings that make everyday life a little more beautiful for our community."

If you go: Soap currently has limited hours. Once fully open in early December, hours will be 7am–10pm daily; last wash at 9pm.
