It's getting more expensive to hire a babysitter in San Antonio — but it's still cheaper here than in most other major metros.
By the numbers: The going rate for babysitting one child in San Antonio was about $18 an hour in 2025, per new UrbanSitter data. It's nearly $22 an hour for two kids.
The same data last year showed San Antonio's rates were $17 per hour for one kid and $20 per hour for two kids.
The big picture: Average babysitting rates rose nearly 5% last year nationwide, hitting about $26 per hour for one child.
Rates tend tobe higher in places with steeper costs of living.
San Francisco ($30/hour for one kid) and Seattle ($28/hour) have some of the highest rates in UrbanSitter's report.
The bottom line: If you hired a sitter for Valentine's Day this weekend, it could be the cheapest bill you pay all night.
