The San Antonio Museum of Art (SAMA) has acquired more than 250 new works for its contemporary, Latin American and ancient Mediterranean collections.
The latest: The acquisitions come from five separate donations. They are:
Two early experimental works by American artist Larry Bell.
More than 60 paper works by Latin American and Hispanic artists.
More than 100 Mexican textiles, like Indigenous children's clothes, festive garments and more.
More than 100 photographs, including vintage press photographs of the Vietnam War.
16 Egyptian objects, including a stone fragment of a royal portrait and clay vessels.
What they're saying: The acquisitions support "our goal to continually grow and diversify our collections with works that hold the stories of global cultures across time," Emily Ballew Neff, The Kelso Director at SAMA, said in a statement.
