A mini concha truck is opening on the South Side

The latest: Owner Cristina Chio started La Concheria as a home-based passion project during the pandemic. Now, she's launching her food truck at Sip & Sit with Me, across from Mission San Jose, 8am-1pm on Saturday.

• All conchas will be baked in the truck.
• "The fact that we were able to grow this business without a storefront, I think that speaks for itself," Chio tells Axios.

Zoom in: La Concheria churns out an array of flavors like mazapán, Oreo, churro and Biscoff. Prices start at $2.

• Chio says the assortment boxes are the star of the show. Each one comes with a dozen conchas in six flavors.
