👋 Megan here. I finally attended a show at the Echo Bridge, a music venue hidden in plain sight.
How it works: It really is just what it sounds like — a bridge that creates echoes. The acoustics for live music are great.
The intimate concerts begin before sunset so you can take in the views while watching musicians perform across the San Antonio River.
Texas Highways once dubbed it "the coolest music venue in Texas."
My experience: I enjoyed seeing Austin-based experimental jazz group THC Trio. By the end of the show, I felt at peace having taken in the sounds of both the music and the nature around us.
If you go: The Echo Bridge is on the South Side, a short (albeit rocky) walk down to the river from Tandem, a coffee shop where you can buy snacks, wine and beer for the show. You can also pack your own cooler.
I'd recommend bringing either chairs or a blanket to sit on.
