👋 Megan here. One of my favorite coffee roasters is based in Chicago, but you can get a cup of joe from their beans at a very San Antonio coffee shop.
Dig in:Tandem San Antonio is on the South Side near the Mission Reach, where it serves up Dark Matter Coffee alongside an array of food, beer and wine.
The vibe: The outside of the building is covered in funky paintings, including one of Victor Wembanyama leaning over the Tower of the Americas.
The inside is eclectic yet cozy. The seating options include various styles of tables and cushy chairs.
What to drink: The iced latte with Mexican vanilla syrup ($6.25). There's a hint of chiles that brings an almost umami flavor to the sweet drink.
What to eat: A fresh spinach and cheese empanada ($4.75).
