Blush launches Friendship Table to help San Antonians connect

How it works: Guests can reserve a seat at the communal table — free of charge — whether they're flying solo or coming with friends. Attendees will also receive a special treat during the event.

• The Friendship Table will be a recurring event.

Between the lines: Throughout Blush's nearly three years in business, co-owner Tanya Moreno tells Axios she's often heard from customers who wish they had friends to join them at the restaurant's events.

• She and her husband Efren Moreno, who also owns Blush, understood that feeling firsthand after moving to San Antonio a few years ago.

What they're saying: "We decided to take action and help the community build connections and hopefully real friendships by creating a communal table in which the pressure of having to ask a random person for a meet-up is out of the question," Tanya says.
