The Monarch San Antonio — a long-anticipated luxury hotel years in the making — will open March 3 and is now taking reservations for mid-April stays.

What's happening: San Antonio-based Zachry Hospitality, which owns and operates the hotel, confirmed the opening date this week.
By the numbers: The Monarch boasts 200 guest rooms, 28 suites, 15,000+ square feet of event space, three new restaurants and a full-service spa.
The vibe: It's described as a nature-inspired urban retreat blending Texas heritage and modern sophistication.
- Oak & Amber, the signature restaurant, draws from Texas ranchers, Gulf Coast flavors and regional orchards.
- Aleteo, a rooftop restaurant and bar, promises skyline views and Yucatán-inspired plates.
- The Nectarie Café will serve French fare by day and transition to charcuterie and cheese pairings at night.
What they're saying: "The Monarch was designed with an uncompromising attention to detail, from its sculptural architecture to the sensory rhythm of each space," Rick Slutter, Zachry Hospitality's managing director, said in a statement.
Flashback: The project was first announced for a 2021 debut but faced construction and financing delays during the pandemic.
