Latte, peach muffin shine at Mermaid Cafe

👋 Megan here! I finally stopped by The Mermaid Cafe, a coffee shop that opened this summer and hires people with disabilities.

The vibe: The space is light and airy with pink touches throughout.

• The coffee was solid, but the gluten-free baked goods really stood out.

What to try: A latte with honey ($5.50) and a peach muffin ($4).

• It was love at first bite for me — I couldn't even tell it was gluten free. This muffin was crumbly on top with a soft center filled with peaches.

If you go: The Mermaid Cafe is known for its cinnamon rolls, which are only served Fridays and Saturdays.
