Upscale restaurant opening in New Braunfels' old City Hall

• The restaurant group is the team behind McAdoo's Seafood Co. and La Cosecha Mexican Table, also in New Braunfels.

Flashback: As the name suggests, the 96-year-old building was once home to City Hall. Over the years, it also served as the police department, a World War II training center and a museum archive.

• The current City Hall opened in 2016.

The vibe: Its next chapter will transform the space into an "upscale neighborhood restaurant," per a press release.

• The menu will feature classics like steaks, pastas and burgers. There will also be a full bar and private dining space.

Between the lines: Old City Hall sits on Seguin Avenue, within walking distance of other local favorites like Sidecar, Cowboys & Cadillacs, and Muck & Fuss.

The bottom line: New Braunfels is becoming a solid option for a night out beyond San Antonio proper.
