👋 Megan here. A speakeasy-style cocktail bar in New Braunfels is so good it juuust might be worth the traffic on I-35 to get there.
The vibe: To access Sidecar, you'll have to walk around the side of the Prince Solms Inn and down a staircase to the basement.
There I found a candlelit ambience and a live jazz band playing.

What to try: The Lady Luck ($15) is a tequila drink with Bénédictine, an herbal liqueur from France. It's made with house ginger and cinnamon syrups and fresh lime and pineapple.
It's bright and fresh, and one of the more sophisticated tequila cocktails I've had.
For dessert, try the Coffee and a Smoke ($15). There's amaretto, two types of amaro, Licor 43, cold brew, house-made cinnamon syrup and cream. That's all topped off with a smoking cinnamon stick.
It's like a dressed-up carajillo.
What's next: I think Sidecar will become a regular stop for me after every tubing trip this summer.
