👋 Megan here. There's a reason Folklores Coffee House has been on an expansion kick lately.
Catch up quick: The punk coffee shop recently opened a second location in Beacon Hill and has expanded to a larger spot in Government Hill.
The vibe: I visited the revamped Government Hill spot, and it's much roomier than the last location.
The walls are covered in alternative band posters, from the likes of Sonic Youth and Joy Division.
And there are quirky knick knacks dispersed throughout — like a large figurine of the murderous plant Audrey II from "Little Shop of Horrors," which I love.
What to drink: My go-to is the Vato Rudo ($6), an iced espresso drink with horchata and caramel, probably my favorite sweet coffee in the whole city.
What to eat: Grab a warm brie, berries and honey croissant ($9.25) while you sit and listen to some punk music — a perfect pairing.
