San Antonio ZIPs among most popular in U.S. for 2024

By the numbers: 78253 (Far West Side, including Alamo Ranch) ranked No. 3, jumping from No. 9 in 2023 — the biggest leap on the list.

• 78130 (New Braunfels) came in at No. 4, up from No. 8 last year.
• Houston-area zip codes 77493 (Katy) and 77433 (Cypress) took the top two spots, respectively.

Between the lines: Most of the list consists of the fastest-growing cities with steady job growth, according to the real estate platform.

How it works: The rankings were based on data from local Multiple Listing Services, the databases real estate agents use to share home listings. Opendoor considered homes that went under contract within 90 days of listing.

The bottom line: San Antonio's growth spurt is undeniable, but its housing market's ability to keep up is still in question.
