More ofrendas to see
Amalia Mesa-Bains designed an ofrenda in honor of labor rights activist Emma Tenayuca, known for leading the 1938 pecan shellers strike.
- It'll be on view at the San Antonio Museum of Art's Great Hall through Jan. 12.
- Museum admission is free for Bexar County residents on Tuesdays from 4-7pm.
InterContinental San Antonio, a new River Walk hotel, created an ofrenda dedicated to movie star Joan Crawford, who was from the Alamo City.
La Tuna Icehouse is inviting the community to add photos of their loved ones to its ofrenda, which will be up until Nov. 3.

Taste of tradition
Alebrije Bakery and La Panadería, both locally owned businesses, are popular spots to buy pan de muerto, a type of pan dulce that is a staple in the celebrations.
- But you can find it at most local panaderías.
The bottom line: San Antonio offers a multitude of ways to hold space and remember our departed loved ones.
