Via's ride-hailing service expanding to downtown San Antonio

Via Metropolitan Transit is adding a fifth Link zone to connect the downtown area using a ride-hailing service starting Sept. 2.

State of play: Via partnered with Centro San Antonio and the University of Texas at San Antonio to launch the additional Via Link zone, connecting downtown visitors to the college and beyond.

The upcoming zone builds on the success of UTSA's Little Runner shuttle service.

How it works: Riders can easily book a ride — either a van or a Little Runner shuttle — within the zone through the Via Link app, similar to ordering an Uber or Lyft. Rides can also be booked online or by calling 210-655-LINK.

A list of nearby pickup and drop-off locations is generated after a customer enters their destination.
Fares are $1.30, like traditional bus rides.
Hours are 7am-11pm daily.
