Hey, it's Madalyn! Here's a quick ode to the Southtown iteration of Hot Joy.
The latest: The restaurant, one of the earliest concepts of the Empty Stomach Group, is moving out of the South Alamo space that it's called home for the last 10 years and relocating to lower Broadway.
The reopening date at the new location, neighboring Nola Brunch and Beignets, hasn't been announced but is slated for late summer.
Zoom in: I snapped this photo long before I knew Hot Joy was on the move, but I'm glad I did.
The cozy yet lively design of the space was always an added treat. It served the perfect backdrop for its adventurous cocktail menu and Wing Wednesdays.
I'm happy the restaurant is sticking around, but sad it'll no longer be a stop along my Southtown strolls.
