San Antonio events celebrating Texas' Juneteenth history

• Maj. Gen. Gordon Granger arrived in Galveston on June 19, 1865, and announced General Order No. 3, proclaiming the end of slavery in the state — 2 ½ years after Abraham Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation.

The San Antonio African American Community Archive and Museum partners with Bexar County and the Tobin Center to host a choral music concert at the H-E-B Performance Hall tonight at 7pm.

• Reserved seating is $10. A $30 option is available and includes dinner at 5:30pm.

Juneteenth Golf Tournament

The Hill Country Golf Club annual competition benefits the Miller Child Development Center on the East Side.

• Registration starts at 8am Wednesday.
• Single-player admission is $175 and includes a golf cart, breakfast, lunch and more.

Gardopia Gardens Summer Solstice

The East Side garden is hosting a pop-up farmer's market from 6-9pm Wedneday. There will also be music and performances.

• Admission is free with registration.

Black History Bus Tour

Saturday at 10am and 1pm, two bus tours will take attendees through the East Side, hitting historical sites such as Phillis Wheatley High School, Ellis Alley and the Ella Austin Orphanage.

• "We are doing our best to help preserve our own history and tell our own story," organizers say online.
• Tickets are $30 and must be purchased online.

Juneteenth Jubilee

Wine 210 and Flours by Taimani, both Black- and locally-owned businesses, are hosting a night of gourmet food with wine pairings from 6-10pm on Friday.

• Tickets for the four-course menu, which includes cajun chicken wings and a seafood boil, are $65 a person.
• The wine bar will host the dinner.
