Here's what happens when ChatGPT plans Fiesta

In the age of ChatGPT, an internet peruser can find answers to just about anything.

Yes, but: Are bots able to draw up a game plan to match that of an expert Fiesta fan?

We found out for ourselves, asking ChatGPT to develop an itinerary of five must-see events.

The vibe: ChatGPT suggested some heavy hitters — Fiesta Fiesta, Flambeau Parade, Night in Old San Antonio, Battle of Flowers Parade and the Fiesta Carnival — with very accurate descriptions.

The other side: Because the last knowledge update for ChatGPT 3.5 (the free version) was sometime in 2022, the dates are inaccurate.

  • And while start times are mostly spot on, ChatGPT doesn't offer expert advice, like: you shouldn't show up to the Flambeau Parade right at 7:45pm.

The bottom line: ChatGPT can be a great springboard for planning or ideas, but you might want to explore the official Fiesta calendar to sharpen your itinerary.

Our pro tips: Start the celebration right Thursday at Fiesta Fiesta. Remember, it's hosted at the Alamodome this year.

  • Taste of the Republic and Taste of the Northside are also Thursday.
