2. Two, one, oh 🤩: A great catch

👋 Madalyn here! I'm doing my best to not eat meat on Fridays this Lenten season.

Yes, but: Friday nights usually call for dining out and popular fish spots like Rudy's Seafood and El Bucanero are bustling.

  • So last week I ventured to Hook Land & Sea, which recently opened at The Creamery. I was pleasantly surprised.

The vibe: The restaurant has the stylish ambiance you'd want for a weekend night out. It's the perfect place to unwind without the crowds, where you can savor your meal in a laid-back atmosphere that feels like a well-kept secret.

  • Orders are taken at the counter, so service is expedited. My ahi tuna poke bowl was at my table in five minutes.
  • It's also steps away from Amelia and other Pearl area hangout spots if you want to make the most of your night.

Dig in: The bowl had just the right amount of ingredients so the tuna was complemented and not overshadowed — seaweed salad, edamame, crispy shallots and a fresh heap of mango on a bed of rice.

The bottom line: I'd go back.
