👋 Madalyn here! I'm doing my best to not eat meat on Fridays this Lenten season.
Yes, but: Friday nights usually call for dining out and popular fish spots like Rudy's Seafood and El Bucanero are bustling.
So last week I ventured to Hook Land & Sea, which recently opened at The Creamery. I was pleasantly surprised.
The vibe: The restaurant has the stylish ambiance you'd want for a weekend night out. It's the perfect place to unwind without the crowds, where you can savor your meal in a laid-back atmosphere that feels like a well-kept secret.
Orders are taken at the counter, so service is expedited. My ahi tuna poke bowl was at my table in five minutes.
It's also steps away from Amelia and other Pearl area hangout spots if you want to make the most of your night.
Dig in: The bowl had just the right amount of ingredients so the tuna was complemented and not overshadowed — seaweed salad, edamame, crispy shallots and a fresh heap of mango on a bed of rice.
