Hanover wants residents to design its next "I Voted" sticker

What they're saying: "The raccoon is absolutely fair game," Hanover registrar Dave Nichols tells Axios.

How it works: Submissions are open through Nov. 30 for these four categories:

• Elementary students: "Future Voter" stickers.
• Middle and high school students: Separate "I Voted" categories.
• Everyone else: An all-ages "I Voted" category.

The rules: Designs must be original, nonpartisan and fit inside a 3-inch circle or square.

• Entrants must live in Hanover. County employees and their immediate family members are ineligible.
• And no AI-generated artwork is allowed.

What's next: Judges will pick the finalists for a public vote, then one winner from each category will be announced in mid-March.

• Residents can submit their design here or drop it off at the elections office in the Wickham Building.

The bottom line: May the best drunk raccoon win.
