Friday, Aug. 28
🎡 Chesterfield County Fair is back for its nine-night run through Sept. 5 filled with concerts, horse shows, mini tractor pulls and more. Times vary. $13 general admission. All day ride wristbands start at $27.
🍃 Lucky Leaf Expo at the Greater Richmond Convention Center has a cannabis market-focused event with exhibits and seminars. 11am-5pm through Saturday. Tickets start at $39.28.
🎸 Grammy award-winners Los Texmaniacs are performing at Northside Grille Patio. 7-9pm. $22.50.
🎶 Local artists Marilyn, CAS, Dials and DJ Guapo are performing at Richmond Music Hall. 7:30pm. $21.25.
👢 The Great American Ranch is hosting a tribute to Dolly Parton. Wearing pink and rhinestones is encouraged. 9pm. Free admission.
🤣 It's Furry Tattoo Weekend through Saturday! That means "a celebration of all things furry," including a tattoo flash day, "furry maker's market" and more at Unkindness Art in Northside. Prices and times vary per event. Tattoos start at $50.
Saturday, Aug. 29
🦣 Ice Age Invasion opens at the Metro Richmond Zoo with 10 life-sized animatronic Ice Age creatures, including a woolly mammoth and saber-toothed cat. 9:30am-5pm. $27.95 (cost of zoo admission).
🐎 Celebrate Dolly at Colonial Downs, which has declared Saturday "Dolly Parton Day," with a children's book drive. Her songs will be playing all day long. 11:30am. Free.
🎭 Maymont Mansion is hosting the 17th Annual International Cosplay Day, where you can wear anything from TV shows to video games. Noon-4pm. Free.
🎉 Afrofest is at the Richmond Raceway, celebrating African culture with music, food and performances. 1-7pm. $5.
🐊 Conex is taking it all the way down to the bayou with "Louisiana Swamp Romp," complete with themed cocktails, king cake, beignets and gumbo. 3-6pm. Free admission.
🎫 R&B singer Kehlani is performing at Allianz Amphitheater. 6:30pm. Resale tickets start at $148.
Sunday, Aug. 30
🩷 More odes to Dolly: The Hof is hosting a Sing Along brunch dedicated to her. 11am-3pm. Free admission.
🎤 The Richmond R&B festival is back at Kanawha Plaza for a day of R&B music. 2-9pm. Tickets start at $55.20.
🪄 The Flying Squirrels have a Harry Potter-themed night, where fans can get a Nutzy bobblehead and bid on game-worn Harry Potter jerseys to benefit Fit4Kids. Gates open at 3:30pm. Game tickets start at $12.
